Kepler-1095 b: A Closely Orbiting Earth-Sized World

Kepler-1095 is a single star located 2580 light-years away. It is 4.47 billion years old, with a mass of 0.94 solar masses and a radius of 0.92 solar radii. Its temperature is 5660 K. One planet is known to orbit this host.

That planet, Kepler-1095 b, was discovered in 2016 by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness. Its orbital period is 4.27 days. With a radius of 1.21 Earth radii, it is classified as Earth-like, and its reported radius estimate is larger than Earth's.
