Kepler-1028 and Its Earth-like Planet

Kepler-1028 is a star located 1980 light-years away, and it hosts one known planet. The star is 4.68 billion years old and has a mass of 0.9 solar masses and a radius of 0.87 solar radii, both smaller than the Sun's corresponding values. Its temperature is 5520 K, which is cooler than the Sun's.

The planet, Kepler-1028 b, was discovered in 2016 by the transit method, in which a planet passing in front of its star causes a small dip in observed brightness. Kepler-1028 b is an Earth-like planet, a size class that stays within 1.5 times Earth's radius. Its radius is 1.33 Earth radii, larger than Earth's, and it completes an orbit in 2.51 days.
