Kepler-1843 and Its Neptune-Like Planet

Kepler-1843 is a star located 2560 light-years away, with a single planet in its orbit. The host star is estimated to be 6.17 billion years old and has a mass of 1.17 solar masses, a radius of 2.19 solar radii, and a temperature of 5370 K. Its reported mass and radius estimates are both larger than the Sun's, while its reported temperature is cooler than the Sun's.

The one known planet, Kepler-1843 b, is classified as Neptune-like. It was discovered by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness; repeated dips help establish orbital periods. Kepler-1843 b completes an orbit every 25.5 days and has a radius of 2.71 Earth radii, a reported radius estimate larger than Earth's.
