Kepler-1665 b: A Neptune-Like World in a Distant System

Kepler-1665 is a star located 1090 light-years away, and it hosts one known planet. The star has a reported mass estimate of 0.842 solar masses, a reported radius estimate of 0.778 solar radii, and a temperature of 5050 K. Its mass and radius are both smaller than the Sun's, and its temperature is cooler than the Sun's.

The planet Kepler-1665 b is Neptune-like in size class and was discovered by the transit method in 2020. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness; repeated dips help establish orbital periods. Kepler-1665 b completes an orbit every 12 days. Its radius is 2.84 Earth radii, which is larger than Earth's.
