KELT-20 is a single-star system 445 light-years from Earth with one known planet. The host star has a spectral type of A2 V, marking it as a hotter, more massive star than the Sun - its reported temperature of 8720 K, mass of 1.76 solar masses, and radius of 1.57 solar radii all exceed the Sun's corresponding values. The star's age carries a reported upper limit of 0.6 billion years.
Its sole known planet, KELT-20 b, was discovered in 2017 using the transit method, in which a planet passing in front of its star causes a small dip in observed brightness. Classified as Jupiter-like, KELT-20 b is a large world with a radius of 19.5 Earth radii - larger than Earth's - and a reported upper mass limit of 1074.90106 Earth masses. It completes one orbit in just 3.47 days.
