KELT-19 A is a main-sequence A-type star located 979 light-years away. It is the more massive component of a two-star system, and one known planet orbits it. The host star's reported mass estimate is 1.62 solar masses, larger than the Sun's, and its reported radius estimate is 1.83 solar radii, also larger than the Sun's. At 7500 K, it is hotter than the Sun.
The one known planet, KELT-19 A b, is a Jupiter-like world discovered by the transit method in 2017. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. KELT-19 A b has a reported upper limit of 1293.5681 Earth masses, a radius of 21.4 Earth radii, larger than Earth's, and an orbital period of 4.61 days.
