K2-84: A Distant Star With Two Super-Earths

K2-84 is a star located 929 light-years away. It has 0.897 solar masses and a radius of 0.82 solar radii, and its temperature is 5250 K. Its reported radius estimate is smaller than the Sun's, and its reported temperature is cooler than the Sun's.

Two planets are known to orbit K2-84. Both were discovered by transit in 2016 and are classified as Super-Earths, a size class that reaches 2.5 times Earth's radius.

K2-84 b has a radius of 2.41 Earth radii and an orbital period of 6.42 days. K2-84 c has a radius of 2.03 Earth radii and an orbital period of 27.9 days. Both planets' reported radius estimates are larger than Earth's. Among the listed planets, K2-84 b has the shortest year and the largest radius, while K2-84 c has the longest year and the smallest radius.
