K2-365 is a star located 611 light-years away, with a mass of 0.823 solar masses, a radius of 1.05 solar radii, and a temperature of 5560 K. Its reported temperature is cooler than the Sun's. One planet orbits this host: K2-365 b.
K2-365 b was discovered by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness; repeated dips help establish orbital periods. The planet completes an orbit every 23.4 days and has a radius of 2.91 Earth radii, which is larger than Earth's. That radius places it in the Neptune-like size class, which reaches up to four times Earth's radius.
