K2-353 is a star 876 light-years away with one known planet. The host star has 0.96 solar masses, 1.02 solar radii, and a temperature of 5480 K, which is cooler than the Sun's. Its planet, K2-353 b, was discovered by transit in 2021, when it passed in front of the star and caused a small dip in observed brightness. Repeated dips helped establish its orbital period.
K2-353 b is a Jupiter-like planet, a size class for worlds exceeding 4 times Earth's radius. Its radius is 5.55 Earth radii, larger than Earth's. It completes an orbit every 15.5 days.
