K2-125 is a star 405 light-years away with one known planet, K2-125 b. The host star has a reported mass of 0.387 solar masses and a radius of 0.396 solar radii, both smaller than the Sun's. Its temperature is 3570 K, cooler than the Sun's.
K2-125 b is a Super-Earth discovered in 2017 by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness. Repeated dips help establish orbital periods. The planet's radius is 2.18 Earth radii, larger than Earth's, and its orbital period is 21.8 days.
