HD 47366 is a K1 III star located 275 light-years away. Its spectral type places it among the cooler, more evolved stars. The star is estimated to be 1.61 billion years old, with a mass of 1.81 solar masses and a radius of 7.3 solar radii. Its temperature is 4870 K, cooler than the Sun's. The reported mass and radius are both larger than the Sun's. Two planets are known to orbit this host.
HD 47366 b and HD 47366 c were both discovered in 2016 using the radial velocity method, which measures the wobble a planet's gravity induces in its star's motion. Repeated wobbles reveal the planet and its orbital period.
HD 47366 b has a minimum mass of 662 Earth masses, roughly 2.08 times Jupiter's mass, and an orbital period of 360 days. HD 47366 c has a minimum mass of 484 Earth masses, roughly 1.52 times Jupiter's mass, and an orbital period of 678 days. Both minimum masses are larger than Earth's. Among the listed planets, HD 47366 b has the shortest year by reported estimates, at 360 days, while HD 47366 c has the longest year, at 678 days. HD 47366 c also has the smallest minimum mass, while HD 47366 b has the largest minimum mass.
