HD 109833 and Its Two Neptune-Like Planets

HD 109833 is a star 259 light-years from Earth. It is a very young star, with an age of 0.027 billion years, and it has a mass of 1.08 solar masses, a radius of 1 solar radii, and a temperature of 5880 K. Its reported mass estimate is larger than the Sun's, and its reported temperature is hotter than the Sun's. Two planets are known to orbit this host.

Both planets were discovered by transit in 2022. HD 109833 b is Neptune-like, with a radius of 2.89 Earth radii, larger than Earth's, and an orbital period of 9.19 days. HD 109833 c is also Neptune-like, with a radius of 2.59 Earth radii, also larger than Earth's, and an orbital period of 13.9 days. Among the listed planets, HD 109833 b has the shortest year by reported estimates, while HD 109833 c has the longest year by reported estimates. HD 109833 b has the largest radius by reported estimates, and HD 109833 c has the smallest radius by reported estimates.
