HATS-57 is a star located 912 light-years away. It has a mass of 1.03 solar masses and a radius of 0.96 solar radii, smaller than the Sun's. Its temperature is 5590 K, cooler than the Sun's, and its age is 2.5 billion years. One planet orbits this host.
That planet is HATS-57 b, a Jupiter-like world discovered by transit in 2019. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. HATS-57 b has a mass of 1000 Earth masses, roughly 3.15 times Jupiter's mass and larger than Earth's. Its radius is 12.8 Earth radii, also larger than Earth's. It completes an orbit every 2.35 days. Its mean density is 2.65 g/cm³, 0.481 times Earth's.
