HAT-P-66 is a G0 star 3050 light-years away. Its mass is 1.25 solar masses, its radius is 1.88 solar radii, its temperature is 6000 K, and its age is 4.66 billion years. The star's reported mass, radius, and temperature estimates are all larger or hotter than the Sun's. One planet is known to orbit it.
HAT-P-66 b is a Jupiter-like planet discovered in 2016 by the transit method, in which a planet passing in front of its star from our viewpoint causes a small dip in observed brightness. It has a mass of 249 Earth masses, a radius of 17.8 Earth radii, and an orbital period of 2.97 days. Its reported mass and radius estimates are larger than Earth's, and its mean density is 0.242 g/cm³, 0.044 times Earth's.
