HAT-P-27: A Sun-Like Star With One Known Planet

HAT-P-27 is a G8 star located 650 light-years away. Its mass is 0.945 solar masses and its radius is 0.898 solar radii, both smaller than the Sun's corresponding values. The star's temperature is 5300 K, cooler than the Sun's, and its age is 4.4 billion years. One planet is known to orbit this host.

That planet is HAT-P-27 b, a Jupiter-like world discovered by the transit method in 2011. It has a mass of 197 Earth masses and a radius of 11.4 Earth radii, both larger than Earth's corresponding values. Its orbital period is 3.04 days, and its mean density is 0.727 g/cm³, which is 0.132 times Earth's.
