DMPP-7 b: A Close-Orbiting Planet Around a Sun-Like Star

DMPP-7 is a star 331 light-years from Earth with a spectral type of G1 V, making it a Sun-like dwarf. It has one known planet. The star is 3.87 billion years old, with a mass of 1.23 solar masses and a radius of 1.49 solar radii. Its temperature is 6100 K, and its reported mass and radius estimates are both larger than the Sun's, while its reported temperature is hotter than the Sun's.

The planet DMPP-7 b was discovered in 2026 using the radial velocity method, which measures the wobble a planet's gravity induces in its star's motion. Its minimum mass is 69 Earth masses, larger than Earth's, and its orbital period is 4.93 days.
