eps Ind A and Its Planet

Epsilon Indi A is a K5 V star 11.9 light-years away. Its spectral type marks it as a main-sequence dwarf. The star is 3.5 billion years old, with a mass of 0.76 solar masses and a radius of 0.679 solar radii, both smaller than the Sun's, and a temperature of 4760 K, cooler than the Sun's.

One planet is known to orbit this host, eps Ind A b, discovered in 2019 by the radial velocity method, which detects the wobble a planet's gravity induces in its star's motion. The planet has a mass of 2070 Earth masses, roughly 6.5 times Jupiter's mass and larger than Earth's, and an orbital period of 25500 days.
