WTS-1 is a star 7650 light-years away with a spectral type of F6 V, a main-sequence dwarf hotter and more massive than the Sun. Its measured mass is 1.2 solar masses, its radius 1.15 solar radii, and its temperature 6250 K, all larger or hotter than the corresponding solar values. The star is 2.55 billion years old. One planet orbits this host.
That planet, WTS-1 b, was discovered by transit in 2012. Its orbital period is 3.35 days, placing it extremely close to its star. With a radius of 16.7 Earth radii, it falls into the Jupiter-like size class, and its mass of 1270 Earth masses is roughly 4.01 times Jupiter's mass. Both its radius and mass are larger than Earth's, and its mean density is 1.51 g/cm³, 0.274 times Earth's.
