WASP-120 is an F-type star 1240 light-years away. Its spectral type is F5, placing it among the hotter, more massive stellar classes. The star is 2.6 billion years old, has a mass of 1.39 solar masses, a radius of 1.87 solar radii, and a temperature of 6450 K. Its mass, radius, and temperature all exceed the Sun's corresponding values.
One planet is known to orbit this host: WASP-120 b, a Jupiter-like planet discovered by the transit method in 2016. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. WASP-120 b has a radius of 15.6 Earth radii, larger than Earth's. No orbital period is reported for WASP-120 b.
