TOI-824 b: A Close-In Neptune in a K-Type Dwarf System

TOI-824 is a K4 V dwarf star 208 light-years away, with a radius of 0.695 solar radii and a mass of 0.71 solar masses. Its spectral type places it in the K class, cooler and redder than the Sun, and the measured temperature of 4600 K is cooler than the Sun's. The star is estimated to be 7.5 billion years old.

One planet is known around TOI-824: TOI-824 b, a Neptune-like world discovered in 2020 by the transit method, in which a planet passing in front of its star causes a small dip in observed brightness. Its radius of 2.93 Earth radii is larger than Earth's. Its mass of 18.5 Earth masses is larger than Earth's. The planet completes an orbit in 1.39 days. Its mean density is 4.06 g/cm³, 0.737 times Earth's.
