TOI-6019 and Its Jupiter-Like Planet

TOI-6019 is a star 849 light-years away with a mass of 0.98 solar masses, a radius of 1.98 solar radii, and a temperature of 5560 K. Its reported radius is larger than the Sun's, while its temperature is cooler. One planet is known to orbit this host.

That planet, TOI-6019 b, is a Jupiter-like world discovered by transit in 2026. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. TOI-6019 b has a mass of 149 Earth masses, a radius of 12.3 Earth radii, and an orbital period of 14.5 days, the time it takes to complete one orbit. Its radius and mass are both larger than Earth's, and its mean density is 0.441 g/cm³, 0.0801 times Earth's.
