TOI-5595 b: A Jupiter-Like World Orbiting a Cool Star

TOI-5595 is a star 447 light-years away with one known planet in orbit around it. The host star has a reported mass estimate of 0.645 solar masses and a radius estimate of 0.743 solar radii, both smaller than the Sun's corresponding values. Its temperature of 4120 K is cooler than the Sun's.

The single known planet is TOI-5595 b, a Jupiter-like world discovered by transit in 2026. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness; repeated dips help establish orbital periods. TOI-5595 b orbits its star once every 5.99 days and has a radius of 4.74 Earth radii, larger than Earth's. Because a Jupiter-like planet exceeds 4 times Earth's radius, TOI-5595 b's size classification reflects its radius measurement.
