TOI-5322 and Its Jupiter-Like Planet

TOI-5322 is a star 1560 light-years away. It is 9.7 billion years old, has 0.998 solar masses, and a radius of 1.46 solar radii, larger than the Sun's. Its temperature is 5690 K. One planet has been found orbiting this star.

That planet, TOI-5322 b, was discovered in 2025 by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness. It is Jupiter-like, a size class for planets exceeding 4 times Earth's radius, and its radius of 16.6 Earth radii is larger than Earth's. Its mass of 184 Earth masses is also larger than Earth's. TOI-5322 b completes an orbit every 5.42 days, and its mean density is 0.221 g/cm³, 0.0401 times Earth's.
