TOI-4930: A Distant Star With One Known Planet

TOI-4930 is a star 1350 light-years away with a mass of 1.04 solar masses, a radius of 1.16 solar radii, and a temperature of 5800 K. Its reported radius estimate is larger than the Sun's. One planet has been found orbiting this host.

That planet is TOI-4930 b, a Jupiter-like world discovered by transit in 2026. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness; repeated dips help establish orbital periods. TOI-4930 b completes an orbit every 6.78 days, and its radius of 6.93 Earth radii is larger than Earth's. That radius places it beyond the 4-Earth-radius threshold of the Jupiter-like class, which describes size rather than composition.
