TOI-4641 and Its Jupiter-Like Planet

TOI-4641 is a star 282 light-years from Earth with one known planet in orbit. The host star is 2.69 billion years old, with a reported mass of 1.41 solar masses and a radius of 1.72 solar radii, both larger than the Sun's. Its reported temperature of 6560 K is hotter than the Sun's.

The system's only known planet, TOI-4641 b, was discovered in 2023 by the transit method, in which a planet passing in front of its star from our viewpoint causes a small dip in observed brightness. Repeated dips help establish orbital periods. TOI-4641 b completes an orbit every 22.1 days. It is a Jupiter-like planet, a size class for worlds exceeding 4 times Earth's radius, and its reported radius of 8.18 Earth radii is larger than Earth's. Its mass is given as a reported upper limit of 1229.99593509 Earth masses; an upper limit is a bound rather than an exact value.
