TOI-4600 and Its Two Jupiter-Like Planets

TOI-4600 is a K-type main-sequence star located 705 light-years away. It is estimated to be 2.3 billion years old, with a reported mass of 0.89 solar masses and a radius of 0.81 solar radii. Its temperature is 5170 K, and its spectral type, K V, marks it as a cooler dwarf than the Sun.

Two planets are known to orbit this star, both discovered in 2023 by the transit method, in which a planet passing in front of its star produces a small dip in observed brightness. Both are Jupiter-like planets, meaning their radii exceed four times Earth's radius. TOI-4600 b has a radius of 6.8 Earth radii and completes an orbit every 82.7 days. Its mass is reported as an upper limit of 959.84178914 Earth masses. TOI-4600 c is the larger of the two, with a radius of 9.42 Earth radii, and its mass is reported as an upper limit of 2946.26933289 Earth masses. It takes 483 days to complete one orbit. Among the listed planets, TOI-4600 b has both the shortest year and the smallest radius, while TOI-4600 c has the longest year and the largest radius.
