TOI-4529 b: A Super-Earth Around a Cool Red Dwarf

TOI-4529 is an M1.5 V star, a small, cool red dwarf, located 92.6 light-years away. Its spectral type places it in the coolest and reddest temperature class, and the trailing V marks it as a main-sequence dwarf. The star has a reported mass of 0.482 solar masses, a reported radius of 0.48 solar radii, and a temperature of 3700 K. Its reported mass and radius estimates are smaller than the Sun's, and its reported temperature is cooler than the Sun's.

One planet orbits this host. TOI-4529 b is classified as a Super-Earth, a size class that reaches 2.5 times Earth's radius. Its reported radius estimate of 1.77 Earth radii is larger than Earth's, and its mass is a reported upper limit of 4.9 Earth masses. The planet was discovered by the transit method, in which a planet passing in front of its star from our viewpoint causes a small dip in observed brightness; repeated dips help establish orbital periods. TOI-4529 b completes an orbit every 5.88 days.
