TOI-4515 and Its Lone Giant Planet

TOI-4515 is a G8/G9 star 631 light-years away. Its mass comes to 0.949 solar masses, its radius to 0.86 solar radii, and its temperature to 5430 K; it is 1.2 billion years old. Each of these stellar values is smaller or cooler than the corresponding value for the Sun. One planet is known to orbit this star.

That planet, TOI-4515 b, was discovered in 2024 by the transit method, in which a planet dims its star slightly as it crosses in front of it from our viewpoint. Its radius of 12.2 Earth radii places it in the Jupiter-like size class, since a Jupiter-like planet exceeds 4 times Earth's radius. Its mass of 637 Earth masses is likewise larger than Earth's and roughly 2 times Jupiter's mass. Its mean density is 1.95 g/cm³, 0.353 times Earth's, and it completes an orbit every 15.3 days.
