TOI-4495: A Nearby Star with Two Transiting Planets

TOI-4495 is a star 431 light-years away with two known planets orbiting it. The star is 1.9 billion years old and has a mass of 1.25 solar masses, a radius of 1.31 solar radii, and a temperature of 6210 K. Its mass, radius, and temperature are each larger or hotter than the Sun's corresponding values.

Both planets were detected by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star and causes a small dip in observed brightness. TOI-4495 b was discovered in 2026. It is a Super-Earth with a radius of 2.48 Earth radii, a mass of 7.7 Earth masses, and an orbital period of 2.57 days. Its radius and mass are both larger than Earth's, and its mean density is 2.77 g/cm³. TOI-4495 c was discovered in 2024. It is a Jupiter-like planet with a radius of 4.03 Earth radii, a mass of 23.2 Earth masses, and an orbital period of 5.19 days. Its radius and mass are both larger than Earth's, and its mean density is 1.95 g/cm³.

Among the listed planets, TOI-4495 b has the shortest year by reported estimates, the smallest radius, and the smallest reported mass. TOI-4495 c has the longest year by reported estimates, the largest radius, and the largest reported mass.
