TOI-3629 and Its Jupiter-like Planet

TOI-3629 is an M1 star located 424 light-years away. This small, cool red dwarf has a mass of 0.63 solar masses, a radius of 0.6 solar radii, and a temperature of 3870 K, all smaller or cooler than the Sun. It is 7 billion years old, making it older than the Sun. One planet orbits this host.

That planet is TOI-3629 b, a Jupiter-like world discovered by the transit method in 2022. With a radius of 8.29 Earth radii, it exceeds four times Earth's radius, placing it firmly in the Jupiter-like class. Its mass is 82.6 Earth masses, far larger than Earth's. Its mean density is 0.798 g/cm³, just 0.145 times Earth's. TOI-3629 b completes one orbit in only 3.94 days, a remarkably short period.
