TOI-3160 A b: A Jupiter-like Planet Around a Star

TOI-3160 A is a star 1850 light-years away with one known planet, TOI-3160 A b. Its age is 5.5 billion years, its mass is 1.09 solar masses, its radius is 1.35 solar radii, and its temperature is 6190 K. Each of these measurements exceeds the Sun's corresponding value: the star is more massive, larger in radius, and hotter. These properties describe the host star alone.

TOI-3160 A b is a Jupiter-like planet, a size class that, by radius, exceeds four times Earth's radius. It was discovered by the transit method in 2025, when the planet passed in front of its star from our viewpoint and caused a small dip in observed brightness. Its radius is 13.8 Earth radii, and its mass is 378 Earth masses, or roughly 1.19 times Jupiter's mass. Its orbital period is 3.97 days. Its mean density is 0.799 g/cm³, 0.145 times Earth's.
