TOI-3082 b: A Neptune-Like World in a Distant Star System

TOI-3082 is a star located 369 light-years from Earth. It has a reported mass of 0.664 solar masses and a radius of 0.685 solar radii, both smaller than the Sun's corresponding values. Its temperature is 4260 K, cooler than the Sun's. The star hosts one known planet.

That planet, TOI-3082 b, is a Neptune-like world discovered in 2023 by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness. Repeated dips help establish orbital periods. TOI-3082 b orbits its host every 1.93 days and has a radius of 3.66 Earth radii, larger than Earth's. This radius places it within the Neptune-like size class, which extends to 4 times Earth's radius.
