TOI-2714 and Its Jupiter-Like Planet

TOI-2714 is a star 1950 light-years away with an age of 5.5 billion years, a mass of 1.07 solar masses, a radius of 1.25 solar radii, and a temperature of 5670 K. Its reported mass and radius estimates are both larger than the Sun's. One planet is known to orbit this host.

That planet is TOI-2714 b, a Jupiter-like world discovered in 2024 by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness. Jupiter-like means its radius exceeds 4 times Earth's radius. TOI-2714 b has a radius of 13.7 Earth radii, larger than Earth's, and a mass of 228 Earth masses, also larger than Earth's. Its mean density is 0.486 g/cm³, 0.0883 times Earth's. The planet completes an orbit every 2.5 days.
