TOI-2431 b: A Super-Earth in a Close Orbit

TOI-2431 is a K7 V main-sequence dwarf, a smaller and cooler star than the Sun, located 118 light-years away. Its reported mass is 0.661 solar masses and its radius is 0.651 solar radii, both smaller than the Sun's. The star's temperature is 4110 K, cooler than the Sun's, and its age is 2 billion years. One planet orbits this host.

That planet is TOI-2431 b, a Super-Earth discovered by transit in 2026. Its radius is 1.53 Earth radii, larger than Earth's, and its mass is 6.2 Earth masses, also larger than Earth's. Its mean density is 9.46 g/cm³, 1.72 times Earth's. It completes an orbit in just 0.224 days, one of the shortest periods known for a planet.
