TOI-2207 and Its Jupiter-Like Planet

TOI-2207 is a star 1220 light-years away with one known planet in orbit around it. The star is estimated to be 3.3 billion years old, with a mass of 1.3 solar masses and a radius of 1.56 solar radii. Its temperature is 6100 K. Each of these estimates is larger or hotter than the Sun's corresponding value.

The planet, TOI-2207 b, was discovered by transit in 2022. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. TOI-2207 b is Jupiter-like, a size class for planets exceeding 4 times Earth's radius. Its radius is 11.2 Earth radii, larger than Earth's. Its mass is 203 Earth masses, also larger than Earth's. Its mean density is 0.808 g/cm³, 0.147 times Earth's. It completes one orbit every 8 days.
