TOI-2031 A b: A Giant Planet Orbiting a Hotter, Larger Star

TOI-2031 A is a star 901 light-years away with one known planet. The host star is 2 billion years old and has a mass of 1.17 solar masses and a radius of 1.24 solar radii. Its temperature is 6490 K, and its reported mass, radius, and temperature estimates are all larger or hotter than the Sun's.

The planet, TOI-2031 A b, was discovered by transit in 2025. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. TOI-2031 A b has a mass of 254 Earth masses and a radius of 14.2 Earth radii, both larger than Earth's. Its mean density is 0.489 g/cm³, 0.0888 times Earth's. Classified as Jupiter-like, it exceeds 4 times Earth's radius. Its orbital period is 5.72 days.
