TOI-1937 A b: A Jupiter-Like World in a Two-Star System

TOI-1937 A is a star 1350 light-years away with one known planet, TOI-1937 A b. The host star is 3.6 billion years old and has a mass of 1.07 solar masses and a radius of 1.08 solar radii; its temperature is 5810 K. The star's reported mass and radius estimates are both larger than the Sun's. It is accompanied by a stellar companion, making the system a cataloged pair.

The planet TOI-1937 A b was discovered in 2023 by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness. It orbits the host star every 0.947 days. Its radius is 14 Earth radii, larger than Earth's, and that radius places it among Jupiter-like planets, which exceed four times Earth's radius. Its mass is 639 Earth masses, also larger than Earth's and roughly 2.01 times Jupiter's mass. The planet's mean density is 1.29 g/cm³, 0.234 times Earth's.
