TOI-1774 and Its Two Known Planets

TOI-1774 is a single-star system 176 light-years from Earth. Its star is 7.4 billion years old and has a mass of 0.991 solar masses, a radius of 1.13 solar radii, and a temperature of 5750 K. Two planets are known to orbit this host, TOI-1774.01 and HD 85426 c.

TOI-1774.01 is a Neptune-like planet discovered by the transit method in 2021. Its radius is 2.78 Earth radii, and its minimum mass is 8.5 Earth masses. It completes an orbit in 16.7 days, the shortest reported year among the listed planets.

HD 85426 c was discovered by the radial velocity method in 2026, a technique that detects the wobble a planet's gravity induces in its star's motion. Its minimum mass is 10.3 Earth masses, the largest minimum mass among the listed planets, and its orbital period is 35.7 days, the longest among them. Both planets' minimum masses are larger than Earth's, and TOI-1774.01's radius also exceeds Earth's. The star's reported radius estimate is larger than the Sun's.
