TOI-1064 and Its Two Neptune-like Worlds

TOI-1064 is a star located 222 light-years away, and two planets orbit it. The star is estimated to be 9.4 billion years old, with a mass of 0.748 solar masses and a radius of 0.726 solar radii. Its temperature is 4730 K. Its mass and radius are smaller than the Sun's, and its temperature is cooler than the Sun's.

Both planets were discovered by transit in 2022. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness; repeated dips help establish orbital periods.

TOI-1064 b is Neptune-like, with a mass of 13.5 Earth masses and a radius of 2.59 Earth radii. Its orbital period is 6.44 days, the shortest among the listed planets. Its radius and mass are larger than Earth's, and its mean density is 4.3 g/cm³, 0.78 times Earth's.

TOI-1064 c is also Neptune-like, with a mass of 2.5 Earth masses and a radius of 2.65 Earth radii. Its orbital period is 12.2 days, the longest among the listed planets. Its radius is larger than Earth's, and its mean density is 0.739 g/cm³, 0.134 times Earth's.

Among the listed planets, TOI-1064 b has the smallest radius and the largest reported mass. TOI-1064 c has the largest radius and the smallest reported mass.
