TIC 9344899 is a G-type dwarf, a Sun-like star, located 1740 light-years away. Its spectral type is G3 V, its temperature is 5800 K, and its age is 6.1 billion years. The star has a mass of 0.98 solar masses and a radius of 1.06 solar radii, which is larger than the Sun's. One planet is known to orbit this host.
That planet, TIC 9344899 b, is a Jupiter-like world discovered by the transit method in 2026. Such a transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. The planet's radius is 9.16 Earth radii, larger than Earth's, and its mass is 6170 Earth masses, also larger than Earth's. That mass is roughly 19.4 times Jupiter's mass. Its orbital period is 8.58 days, so it completes one orbit in just over a week. Its mean density is 44.2 g/cm³, 8.03 times Earth's.
