Kepler-993 and Its Solitary Neptune-Like Planet

Kepler-993 is a star located 1060 light-years away. Its age is 3.89 billion years, its mass is 0.57 solar masses, and its radius is 0.54 solar radii. The star's reported mass and radius estimates are smaller than the Sun's, and its reported temperature of 3840 K is cooler than the Sun's. One planet is known to orbit this host.

That planet is Kepler-993 b, a Neptune-like world discovered by transit in 2016. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. Kepler-993 b's reported radius estimate is 2.97 Earth radii, which is larger than Earth's, and its orbital period is 22.1 days.
