Kepler-962 and Its Super-Earth

Kepler-962 is a star located 1340 light-years away. It is 2.4 billion years old, with a mass of 0.93 solar masses and a radius of 0.86 solar radii, both smaller than the Sun's. Its temperature of 5480 K is cooler than the Sun's. One planet is known to orbit this star.

That planet, Kepler-962 b, is a Super-Earth discovered by transit in 2016. A transit occurs when a planet crosses in front of its star from our viewpoint, dimming the observed brightness; repeated dips help establish orbital periods. Kepler-962 b completes an orbit every 12.1 days. Its radius of 1.97 Earth radii is larger than Earth's.
