Kepler-873 and Its Neptune-Like Planet

Kepler-873 is a star 3860 light-years away with a reported age of 2.95 billion years. Its mass is 1.18 solar masses, its radius is 1.27 solar radii, and its temperature is 6160 K. Its reported mass estimate is larger than the Sun's, its reported radius estimate is larger than the Sun's, and its reported temperature is hotter than the Sun's.

One planet orbits this host, Kepler-873 b. It is a Neptune-like planet, meaning its size class places it within four times Earth's radius. It was discovered by transit in 2016, when the planet passed in front of its star from our viewpoint and caused a small dip in observed brightness; repeated dips helped establish its orbital period.

Kepler-873 b has an orbital period of 20.6 days and a radius of 3.75 Earth radii, which is larger than Earth's radius.
