Kepler-791 and Its Neptune-Like Planet

Kepler-791 is a star 4130 light-years away with one known planet. The host star is estimated to be 2.24 billion years old, with a mass of 1.3 solar masses, a radius of 1.47 solar radii, and a temperature of 6380 K. Its reported mass and radius estimates are larger than the Sun's, and its reported temperature is hotter than the Sun's.

The planet, Kepler-791 b, is Neptune-like and was discovered by transit in 2016. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. Kepler-791 b orbits every 14.6 days and has a radius of 3.05 Earth radii, which is larger than Earth's. In size classes based on radius, a Neptune-like planet reaches 4 times Earth's radius.
