Kepler-789 and Its Super-Earth

Kepler-789 is a star located 4830 light-years away. It has 1.01 solar masses, 1.02 solar radii, a temperature of 5870 K, and an age of 3.72 billion years. One planet is known to orbit this host.

That planet is Kepler-789 b, a Super-Earth discovered by transit in 2016. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. Kepler-789 b completes an orbit every 8.64 days, and its radius is 2.12 Earth radii. Its radius estimate is larger than Earth's, and a Super-Earth reaches up to 2.5 times Earth's radius.
