Kepler-774 and Its Neptune-like Planet

Kepler-774 is a star located 2990 light-years away. It is 2.14 billion years old and has a mass of 1.57 solar masses and a radius of 2.42 solar radii. Its temperature is 6400 K, and its reported mass, radius, and temperature estimates are all larger or hotter than the Sun's. The system contains one known planet.

That planet is Kepler-774 b, a Neptune-like world discovered by transit in 2016. A transit occurs when a planet crosses in front of its star from our viewpoint, producing a small dip in observed brightness. Kepler-774 b orbits its host every 11.1 days and has a radius of 3.17 Earth radii, larger than Earth's.
