Kepler-756 and Its Earth-like Planet

Kepler-756 is a star with one known planet, Kepler-756 b. The host star is estimated to be 4.47 billion years old, with a mass of 0.82 solar masses and a radius of 0.79 solar radii. Its reported temperature is 5280 K. The star's reported mass and radius estimates are both smaller than the Sun's, and its reported temperature is cooler than the Sun's.

Kepler-756 b was discovered in 2016 by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness. Repeated dips help establish orbital periods. The planet completes an orbit every 1.22 days, and its radius is 1.12 Earth radii. That radius is larger than Earth's, placing Kepler-756 b within the Earth-like size class, which covers planets up to 1.5 times Earth's radius.
