Kepler-752 and Its Neptune-Like Planet

Kepler-752 is a star 4020 light-years away with one known planet in orbit around it. The host star is 4.07 billion years old and has a mass of 0.87 solar masses, a radius of 0.83 solar radii, and a temperature of 5370 K. Each of these reported values is smaller or cooler than the corresponding value for the Sun.

The single planet, Kepler-752 b, was discovered by the transit method in 2016. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness; repeated dips help establish orbital periods. Kepler-752 b completes an orbit in 18.8 days and has a radius of 2.81 Earth radii, which is larger than Earth's radius. Its radius places it in the Neptune-like size class, which reaches four times Earth's radius.
