Kepler-748 and Its Neptune-Like Planet

Kepler-748 is a star 5560 light-years away, with an age of 3.72 billion years, a mass of 1.07 solar masses, a radius of 1.1 solar radii, and a temperature of 5930 K. Its reported temperature is hotter than the Sun's. One planet is known to orbit this host.

Kepler-748 b is a Neptune-like planet discovered in 2016 by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness. Repeated dips help establish orbital periods. The planet completes an orbit every 7.41 days, and its radius of 2.52 Earth radii is larger than Earth's.
