Kepler-734 and Its Neptune-Like Planet

Kepler-734 is a star 3770 light-years away with a single known planet in orbit around it. The host star is 2.34 billion years old and has a mass of 0.85 solar masses and a radius of 0.78 solar radii, both smaller than the Sun's corresponding values. Its temperature is 5330 K, cooler than the Sun's.

The one planet, Kepler-734 b, is Neptune-like in size classification and was discovered in 2016 by the transit method, in which a planet passing in front of its star dims the observed brightness. It completes an orbit every 6.1 days. Its radius of 3.56 Earth radii is larger than Earth's, and its size class indicates a radius reaching up to four times Earth's.
